PROFILE

My name is Victoria Méndez and I come from

planet Earth. Today, I am part of the Infinity

Knights. I am 13 years old, and I was raised

in Xopra, since my family were colonists

of Xopra years ago.

My parents were also born on Earth, and

they were raised in that planet, but preferred

to come to Xopra to raise me. Since I was a

child I have always liked a good adventure,

so I would always spend time with elder

Xopranians and they would always tell me

stories about this planet. Xopranians taught

me everything I needed to know about their

story: The Protectors, Azara’s War, everything.

I was amazed about Xopra’s story, but I

wanted to know more. Thus, I started

studying about other planets and their stories. I have always loved learning. That is how I learned about planet Earth, the same planet where I came from. I knew where I came from but I never knew anything else, and I never bothered to ask my parents.

While learning about the galaxy, I also explored Xopra. I had always been allowed to visit The Edifices and to access some levels of the Gyrgad because of my parents, and even though I like learning, I never thought about actually study them. So, one day, I visited The Edifice of the Sky. It was a gigantic place: located in one of the highest mountains in Xopra, it was magnificent. It really imposed the grandeur of which Xopranians respected The Protectors. Inside, it had many many rooms, but the one that had gotten my attention was the immense library that it has. I remember that I entered the library, amazed by it, and started reading, no, eating the books! They were so interesting. There were also books that I could not read because they were very old, and important, and they were written in the same language as the ancient scriptures. Despite my desire for reading all of the books, I kept walking through the Edifice. I visited the other rooms that were there, and sneaked to the roof of the place (no one noticed!).

On top of the roof, I could see the galaxy slightly tinted of purple thanks to Xopra’s atmosphere. The shining rivers gave a beautiful look to the sky, kind of like the aurora borealis on Earth that I had read about in books. Distant sounds of music made the moment even more peaceful, and I remember wanting to fly right there so I could visit all of the galaxy. And even if the galaxy was infinite as they said, I still wanted to travel it. I wanted to discover new planets, meet knew people, and teach others about the things that I knew, and even teach what I didn’t know. In that time, I wasn’t aware of the dangers that could ruin my journey. After feeling at the top of the world for an hour, I went back to my building, and I remember that I couldn’t sleep that night, thinking and developing the idea in my mind.

It was like that for a few months. I would read more than usual, and investigate even more. The researches that I made gave me enough knowledge about the galaxy, that I swore I could go traveling by myself. One day, I went to spend time with one of the Laclanai, one of the elders that knew better about Xopra’s ancient stories. When I met him, he seemed like he didn’t know, or didn’t want to stop telling stories. He knew so many that we even had to stop them and continue the next day. He had a great memory. But that day, he had left to visit the Earth.

That day was the day when I decided that, instead of just

listening to the same stories again and again, I would explore

the space and I would learn all of the stories I could. I remember

waiting a week or so, and kept teaching myself about spaceships

and how to manage them. I even asked my father for help, and

he taught me the basics of piloting a spaceship. I felt like it was

enough for me to go out of Xopra. After that period of time, I

confided in my parents and told them about my plans. They

encouraged me, and, that same day, I left Xopra. If anything

happened, I knew how to go back to Xopra.

I made stops near the Azara star, Sargassum Gamma, and at

Starbase 11, where they received me very warmly. I stayed at

Sargassum Gama for some time, taking a break and fixing minor

damages that my ship had. I left Sargassum Gamma, and kept

flying until I stopped at Kellos. It was very hard getting at Kellos,

because I had to avoid one of the hostile races I had read about:

Macaburus. I had to use invisibility several times, and it was fairly

easy, since my ship was an individual one; however, I did have to

make stops in the middle of nowhere, because they could have

noticed me, so the better option was to keep my guard up. Once I arrived at Kellos,

it was very interesting the change of time because of their divine number: fifteen. I

spent more weeks at Kellos that I had wanted, because I spent most of my days

learning about their minerals, and I was invited to their celebration “beatus

quincedim”. I also learned a lot about emeralds, and the rest of their precious

stones. When I left, I left Kellos very satisfied with what I had learned.

I wasn’t cautious enough when I left Kellos and that brought me many problems. I

forgot to turn on invisibility when I was near Macaburus. Without being given a

moment to process what was going on, the Macaburus attacked me with no mercy.

I tried to lessen the damage, but it was unsuccessful: my ship was going to be

destroyed. The moment I had abandoned all hope, a bigger ship, and one that I

could not recognize as Macaburus’, stopped on top of mine and started shooting

the enemy. The Macaburus retreated, and the bigger ship (which I learned was the

Artemis Charger) took me in. The crew took care of me and made me some

questions. When they realized that I had a lot of knowledge about the planets,

stars, and spaceships in the Quadrants, they took me in as one of theirs.

I became part of the Infinity Knights, and as time passed, I was upgraded to my current position as the first officer.
